Homeschoolliterature.com was created to highlight books that pertain to homeschooling situations. We have read and reviewed each book personally; it is our intention to introduce these books and authors to readers of all ages. It is our goal to provide an honest, family-friendly online directory where everyone can come read book reviews and comment on them.

My name is Michelle.  I’m based in North Carolina. I have been homeschooling for over three years. I love the time I get to spend with my boys and the experiences we share every day through homeschooling. One of the most important things we do everyday is read for an hour or more. This gives us a chance to learn about all kinds of people, places and situations through the books we read.  I believe that a love of reading is essential in our homeschooling life.

With the help of the people at Time4Writing.com (online writing courses) and Time4Learning.com (homeschooling curriculum PreK-8th Grade), I get to work on putting together this special site which combines two areas that I’m passionate about: homeschooling and literature.

I hope  you like the books and reviews we have put up here for you.  It is our hope that this site may encourage authors and publishers to publish more books  about homeschoolers.  Please give me your thoughts on how you would like to see HomeschoolLiterature.com expand. I’m thinking we might also profile some authors who were homeschooled (yes, starting with Christopher Paolini who wrote Eragon).

We hope you will enjoy the site, tell your friends, list it as a resource on your blogs and websites, and that you’ll grace us with a comment on the site concept or with commentary on the reviews.

HomeschoolLiterature.com would like to introduce the newest addition to our site!

Joy and her family live in the mountains of NC. She is a homeschool mom to a ten year old girl and a twelve year old boy who has Prader-willi syndrome, autism and ADHD. Originally her son began kindergarten in public school but it quickly became painfully obvious that the typical school environment was not an appropriate fit. A short time later after graduating preschool, her daughter joined the homeschooling team. They have been homeschooling for six years and cannot imagine doing otherwise. In addition to “school work” the family enjoys hiking, camping, and spending lots of time outdoors. Most days Joy’s daughter can be found reading in a tree.

The journey to parenthood was a long one for the Joy’s  family. Before becoming a mom Joy was a preschool teacher and also worked doing behavioral therapy with children with autism. Little did Joy know then but God was preparing her for something much bigger. In Joy’s spare time (haha) she enjoys reading, photography, art, sewing and all things crafty.

Suggestion: Links to be able to buy these books… I know *I* would love to be able to just click “buy”!!

  10. Hi Kitty;) All the books on the site have a link to Amazon which is the best resource that I have found to buy the titles on the site. If you click on a book and it doesn’t bring you there let me know, please. There are only a couple of books that are not available right now.
